We're back to the same old routine now that Brett is back in school again. It's nice to have familiarity. Still, that two weeks of summer vacation was way too short.
On the bright side, the weather has become much cooler, which means that I can bake and cook whatever I want again. From May to August it's been so hot and humid that to turn on the oven or stove has made our house temperature reach up to 95 degrees. So this week I was able to bake some banana bread, 3 dozen sugar cookies, and I even made lasagna and porkchops. It's difficult to prepare a variety of meals that don't require the oven or stove or even a crock pot in order to keep the house cooler, but as an amateur cook I welcome the challenge.
