Familiar Faces
My mom came to visit us for a few days. I was able to take time off work and we tried to have some fun around town. I realized very quickly that there isn't much to see around our town, but we made the best of it and did lots of shopping. We visited Meramec Springs state park. No park personnel were there because of the holiday weekend, but they kept it open to the public and so we didn't have to pay to get in! (There was a sign that said parking was FREE). We also cooked together in my small kitchen and we did crafts together. It was very nice to spend time with my mom. I wish we lived closer so I could see my family more often.
Brett and I were able to go to a Blues hockey game in St. Louis to see them play against the Avalanches from Colorado. We went with his dad, Sean, Kayla, Sam, and Sam's dad and a few brothers. It was my first hockey game, and I really liked it. It's way more fun to be there in person than to watch it on TV. The camera men were roaming around and filming us for television. Our section won some lottery tickets. Brett had a winning ticket with a lucky 7. He won $1
There were lots of fights toward the end. Hockey is like watching two sports at once - hockey and boxing. But the game was really good. The Blues won 7-3.
