Brett has started school again. He only has another year left before he graduates with an undergraduate degree. It's been a long break from school, so he's very happy to be back at the books. He is also looking forward to going back to work in the lab.
It's nice to have the students back at school. The office gets very quiet and boring without the usual hustling of people. Brett is such a great husband who walks me to work every day. It has been quite a frigid challenge not having a car. Walking a mile to and from campus is not bad, though it would be nicer if Missouri wasn't so cold and windy. Fortunately we only had one bad weather day where we had to walk through a sleet storm. We've also learned that accepting rides gives others a chance to serve. It definitely helped us a lot when we needed to go to the grocery store or to church.
This week we bought a used 2005 red Buick. I've always wanted a red car. The man was so generous to clean it up before he signed the title over to us. All on his own time and money he had the oil changed and a new filter put in, tires rotated, inspected by a mechanic, put on new windshield wipers, vacuumed and washed the inside and out, and he even threw in a new radio face and mp3 cable. And then he delivered it to us on campus so that we wouldn't have to walk home!
We wish everyone a very Happy New Year!
