Fall is wonderful time of year here in Missouri. It gets very colorful. The early-turning trees are already fully bright magenta pink, and now the yellows and oranges are starting to turn. It's interesting that the entire year goes by and you don't really think about the different leaves while they're all the same color up in the trees, and then you suddenly discover that every tree's leaves are a different shape when they're falling like confetti. It's quite beautiful.
Fall also means Primary Program! Ours was this past Sunday and I am so glad it's over now. I was going bonkers playing the same six songs on piano over and over every week. The kids were so happy to have a normal Singing Time afterwards. They were so rowdy it was more like "screaming time." But the children put on a wonderful program. One thing I remember about being in the program when I was in Primary is that I had to memorize my part. Not in this ward! Except one adorable 4-year-old that loudly announced he knew his part by heart. He had the whole congregation laughing.
Fall means hockey season too. Brett got a call last
night from his dad inviting us to come to a St. Louis Blues hockey game. It's
funny because Brett's been looking up tickets for us to go, so we definitely
accepted. I'm excited because I've never seen a hockey game, not that I'm
interested in hockey at all, but it will be a new experience; plus, Brett and
his family are big fans of the Blues and love hockey, so I'm sure in for a
pretty fun game whether the team loses or not.
We carved our pumpkins
last night. $3.69 a pumpkin (no matter the weight) at my grocery store! I
believe that was the biggest pumpkin I've ever carved. We got a ton of seeds! I'm excited to toast them for a snack.
